It has been evident that people, especially women, feel anxious about their appearance as they age. Through conversations with women of various ages, I learned about the different types of anxieties they experience. I was particularly inspired by the element they disliked the most – wrinkles. "The Trace" turns the anxiety of aging into art. By using wrinkles as the material for creating unique jewelry, this project celebrates the beauty and stories behind aging. Participants share their life stories and selfies, and receive personalized jewelry that symbolizes their experiences. This solo project (Sep 2021 - Mar 2022) encourages pride in aging and fosters community appreciation for the richness of life's journey.
